About the Office of Enterprise Technical Architecture

Mission

The Office of Statewide Architecture provides project oversight in support of State CIO governance responsibilities, establishes and maintains statewide information technology standards, and designs cost effective, proven technical solutions for executive branch agencies as well as local governments, public libraries, and K-20 organizations.

Objectives

  • Maximize the state's return on IT investments.
  • Provide sound advice based on objective facts and measureable outcomes.
  • Review and consult on designs that leverage reusable technologies.
  • Improve reliability, predictability, and consistency of IT solutions.
  • Reduce costs to implement and operate IT systems:
    • Consider economies of scale.
    • Review and consult on designs and blueprints that leverage reusable technologies.
    • Aggressively pursue new and promising technologies to meet known business requirements.
  • Aspire to be a learning organization.
  • Clearly and consistently document pertinent research, findings, decisions, recommendations, standards, and all other outputs for both immediate and future consumption.
